Culture in open field with drip system through hose with 10 cm holes. Plant spacing: single row 1,30 m x 0,50 m (1,5 plants/sq m) for indeterminate and semideterminate varieties; single row 1 m x 0,30 m (3,3 plants/sq m) for determinate varieties.
Soil preparation: plowing in March and milling in April.
During the cultivation time we performed soil harrowing and soil tamping.
Staking: chestnut wood stake and zinc coated iron wire.
Nutrient management: manuring soil 50 t/ha (middle february, 2 months before the transplanting);
during the cultivation time:
• Nitrogen 79 kg/ha (ammonium sulphate 260 kg/ha and monoammonium phosphate 200 kg/ha) in 4 different moments of the fert-irrigation;
• Phosphorus 122 kg/ha (monoammonium phosphate 200 kg/ha) in 2 different moments of the fert-irrigation;
• Magnesium 12 kg/ha (magnesium sulphate 75 kg/ha) in 3 different moments of the fert-irrigation;
• Microelement complex (Fe, Mn, Zn, B, Mo) in 3 different moments, method of fertigation;
• Calcium (calcium oxide) from middle june to middle august in 4 different moments, through foliar feeding.
Irrigation:s: n° 43 times; total irrigation volume: 5800 m3/ha; rain during the cultivation time: 1880 m3/ha;
Disease/insect control: n° 14 interventions.
